چکیده

Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) processing involves the conversion of natural gas to liquid hydrocarbons that are widely used in chemical industry. In this process, Fischer–Tropsch (F-T) approach is utilized and, as a result, wastewater produced by-product. This commonly contains alcohols and acids contaminants. Prior discharge, treatment essential, biological common approach. However, not cost effective poses various waste-related issues. Due this, there need for cost-effective method. study evaluated adsorption performance activated carbon fibers (ACFs) GTL wastewater. The ACF exhibited surface area 1232.2 m2/g, which provided significant take place. Response methodology (RSM) under central composite design was assess effect wastewater’s pH, initial concentration dosage on optimize its uptake capacity. It observed vitally affected by three studied factors (pH, dosage), where optimum conditions were found be at pH 3, 1673 mg/L 0.03 g dosage, with an 250 mg/L. Kinetics isotherm models fit data. From analysis, it best described using pseudo-second order Freundlich models, respectively. resilience shown through conducting regeneration results showed high efficiency (~86%) acidic conditions. obtained from show potential industrial

On The Efficacy of Activated Carbon Derived From Bamboo in the Adsorption of Water Contaminants

A comparison of adsorption efficiency of the three Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) produced from waste Nigerian Bamboo at different level of activation in a fixed adsorption bed is reported. Bamboo carbonization was done at temperature range of 200-400c and chemically activated at 400c with chloride salt at percentage range of 0-20%. The 0, 10 and 20% level activation were selected for water tr...

Prediction of the adsorption capability onto activated carbon of liquid aliphatic alcohols using molecular fragments method

Quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) for estimating the adsorption of aliphatic alcohols onto activated carbon were developed using substructural molecular fragments (SMF) method. The adsorption capacity of activated carbon (gr/100grC) for 150 aliphatic alcohols onto activated carbon (AC) is studied under equilibrium conditions. Forward and backwards stepwise regression variable ...

Removal of organic contaminants in bioretention medium amended with activated carbon from sewage sludge

Bioretention, also known as rain garden, allows stormwater to soak into the ground through a soil-based medium, leading to removal of particulate and dissolved pollutants and reduced peak flows. Although soil organic matter (SOM) is efficient at sorbing many pollutants, amending the bioretention medium with highly effective adsorbents has been proposed to optimize pollutant removal and extend b...

Removal of Phenolic Compounds from Water Using Sewage Sludge-Based Activated Carbon Adsorption: A Review

Due to their industrial relevance, phenolic compounds (PC) are amongst the most common organic pollutants found in many industrial wastewater effluents. The potential detrimental health and environmental impacts of PC necessitate their removal from wastewater to meet regulatory discharge standards to ensure meeting sustainable development goals. In recent decades, one of the promising, cost-eff...
